Statistics as a lateral course in Bachelor level started in Nepal during mid fifty in commerce faculty. In Science faculty that produces manpower in the field of Statistics for entire country, Statistics as Vertical course started in 1965 introducing 2-year B. Sc. at Tri-Chandra College. These days, across the country, more than dozen TU affiliated colleges provide core education in Statistics in bachelor level. So this Statistics Department is more than half century old.

Prominent Statisticians working in and around the world from Nepal are mostly educated from prestigious Department of Statistics of Tri Chandra Multiple Campus. It continuously carried its glorious legacy of imparting Statistical Knowledge underabled leadership of following Head of Departments.
